Burn unit
The burn unit is planned and configured for six patient rooms. A documentation room is situated in front of each room pair. The patient rooms are arranged in a row. Cabinet systems are built into the patient rooms to provide necessary supplies. Since the burn unit is a self-enclosed department, there is also a room for surgical procedures within the unit. To support the patient’s recovery process, special temperature settings are maintained inside the department. A burn unit of this size is designed for a regional or university clinic.
A real-life implementation begins with an observation and understanding of real-world workflow. In order to establish work sequences starting in the planning phase, workflows have been created for the staff, the patients and the materials. These are helpful for designing an efficient flow of work within the department.
